Competition is not a requirement but a possibility for Masters swimmers. In Fact, many of us do not compete.
Others do choose to compete in Masters swim meets sanctioned by Masters Swimming of Ontario (MSO), an independent organization for adult swimmers. Our club is registered with MSO, so we can attend competitions together as a team.
Other meets are sanctioned by Swim Ontario Masters (SOM), but we are not currently affiliated with them. Some of our members attend their meets as individuals. Information on how to do this is available to registered members.
Masters Swimming Ontario
MSO operates a fully insured, adult swim league independent of Swim Canada (SNC). The emphasis is on the fitness and social side of adult swimming, and developing programs to help clubs achieve the original vision of master swimming – Fun, Fitness and Friendship through Swimming.
Personal MSO registration fees for swimmers are covered by the club, coming at no extra cost for actively registered club members. Once registered, you are eligible to compete in MSO sanctioned meets. MSO registration is good for up to one year, ending on August 31 of each year.
Completion of online liability and data waivers is required though. Current registrants can access the forms from the “Members Only” page. You need to be logged into your account to do this, or create an account if you don’t have one yet.
