Udate: All spots for the Winter Term have been sold.

At this time the extensive renovation work at the Benson pool is nearing its end and it is now expected that the Benson pool will re-open before the start of the Winter term in January. This also means that we can expect to go back to our usual schedule and lane assignments in the Winter term, and that those who were waitlisted have been e-mailed and offered a spot.

Aquatics management has created a Winter Term Only option (33920) and a Thursday Night Only – Winter term option (34041) to start in January with Benson now in use during that time.

At this point in time, only those who were waitlisted for the Fall/Winter package for 33920 and Thursday Night Fall/Winter for 34041 are allowed to register. Starting at 5pm on Thursday November 27th, any remaining spaces will be open for registration on a first come, first serve basis. Online registration can be located here (Downtown – Registered Programs → Clubs) or in person at the Main Office at 55 Harbord St. The cost of the Winter Only package is $150 and $30 for Thursday Night Only – Winter Term.

Updates regarding the Benson Pool will be available in the next couple weeks.

On Sunday, January 18, 2015, the “Start the New Year With a Splash” meet will be held at the U of T 50m Pool – co-hosted by The North Toronto Masters club, TMU, and the U of T Varsity team. The meet has been sanctioned by MSO.

The warm-up will start at 11:15 AM. Race starts at 12:15 PM and will end sometime between 2 PM and 3 PM. Throughout the meet lane #8 will be a constant warm-up/cool-down lane and races are held in lanes #2 through #7. The meet will be long course and the order of events is as follows:

100 breast
50 back
50 fly
400 free
4×50 free relay
100 back
50 free
50 breast
100 fly
200 free/open

Registration fees range from $35 for entries received by January 8, $45 for entries received by January 14, and $50 for deck entries. The complete meet package is available here. Swimmers must be registered with MSO to participate.
